Meditation Monday--The Birds

  As I sat in my car in the boys' preschool parking lot, waiting to pick the boys up last Wednesday, a rather extraordinary migration of little black birds flew over-head. There must have been thousands of them. All of the parents got out of their cars and watched as this "flock"* sailed overhead and landed in the trees and fields surrounding the preschool. The noise was rather remarkable and the fields undulated with the movement of the flock. I headed for my camera and with my boys buckled into their seats we chased the flock to their next stop several miles to the east, where the boys delighted in "helping me photograph" the birds by honking the horn to get them to take flight.

  Well, it's Monday again. It's time to take a second for yourself! So take a few deep breaths and find your inner calm--if necessary lock the kids in their closets. Enjoy!

If these birds had been bigger; it totally would have been something out of a Hitchcock film
 but because they were so small it just made the situation very surreal.

* A really smart friend** of mine just sent me an email explaining that these birds were probably starlings and that a flock is call a Murmuration.
