Hi and welcome to my blog. I really think parents need to lighten up; I mean, if parenting was meant to be a serious endeavor they'd offer classes! Oh, wait....

My Daisy Scout

Ok my site is still kinda down and I don't know if you will be able to comment on anything, but I had to show you my little Daisy Scout! Isn't she a doll. She has her Daisy Scout smock and her Daisy Scout pink t-shirt (I know you can't tell, but it's a Scout shirt) and her Daisy Scout hair ties! Yes they have such a thing. They also have socks but the Mommy said that was going too far. Who knew that the Hubby is so excited about Myriam being a Daisy Scout that the budget doesn't apply to Scouting gear? (sigh) He's such a Scouting nerd....

She doesn't have her pins yet-they're coming. And Grandma we need you to
fix her troop numbers, Mommy put them on crooked.

Today is also the day that Myriam walked into school, UNASSISTED for the first time! No prompting or escort. Yes I blubbered like an idiot. For those of you without a special needs child know that we've been working very hard on this step, normally Myriam requires an escort into the building, otherwise she will stand there waiting for someone to instruct her or lead her in. Look what a blue smock can do for a girl!
Peace out!

Ok, I think I can comment...woohoo!

She looks like quite the "scout" and way to go....walking into school by herself!!! Can't wait to hear all about the "gains" she makes...I think the uniform helpd but I am pretty sure mama is her "strength"! ;)

What a cutie!! And what a special day for you both!! I hope she has so much fun as a daisy!!! You must have been a wreck when she walked into school all by herself, in her uniform no less!! It's these moments that make special needs parenting such a gift to me, each milestone is that much sweeter!! Enjoy!

Kathy--I didn't know today was going to be the day, I didn't even have a chance to react! She got out of the car and headed to the door. Her usual "walker" was as shocked as I was. I drove off and parked in parking lot to watch her go. And when she hit the door the tears started flowing!
