Second, I am NOT a doctor, therapist, or medical personnel. I have little to NO training and because such, any information or suggestions I make are strictly my opinion or tips that work for Myriam and our family. And although I always attempt to present current, timely, and correct information, it should not be taken as an absolute. You should always do your own research and follow up with your own doctor.
Thirdly, our family has taken a very conservative approach to treatment. This means that we only utilize techniques that have serious medical studies attached to them and have been endorsed by the Surgeon General’s Office. We do not implement fad therapies such as diets, play therapies, supplements, or medical procedures.
In conclusion, I am very happy to present my daughter’s story as seen through my eyes but be aware that I have a very narrow view of autism. All of the autism knowledge I possess has been obtained by research and experiences with my daughter. And autism like parenting (or life in general) is a subject I attempt to present with humor. So ease up folks! And always remember--It’s my blog, not yours; and it’s my kid not yours! (said while sticking tongue out and making raspberry noises)
Chow!
