Church in our family is a full contact sport! After church (two Sundays ago) my children were running around, while we caught up with friends and family, when the next thing I heard was Porter (of course) wailing. He had run head first into the alter--he led with his right eye. Ouch! It immediately began to swell and blacken. Thankfully our Pastor is also an EMT and he was right there to tell me the worst case scenario! Did you know that the bones of the face are small and easily broken? And that often times the break doesn't present itself immediately? In fact, often times days will pass and then the individual will blow their nose hard and their eye will pop out and their face will "kinda melt"!!!!! Thanks Pastor Andy! Add that to the myriad of motherly worries. Ha!
Well, as I was saying.... It's Monday. It's time to take a second for yourself! So take a few deep breaths and find your inner calm--if necessary lock the kids in their closets. Enjoy!
