Hi and welcome to my blog. I really think parents need to lighten up; I mean, if parenting was meant to be a serious endeavor they'd offer classes! Oh, wait....

Resolution Update 2011: Week 1

Well, the New Year is off to a terrific start!

ü      I had a date with the Holiday Closet this weekend.  It’s the closet where all of the Holiday decorations and the Christmas trees are stored.  I went through the multitude of stuff I have accumulated over the years and tossed, donated, or free-cycled a ton of excess.  It was bad folk!  I have two broken 7 ft trees and a 22 gal. Rubbermaid container of broken ornaments that’s getting trashed.  But I’m afraid that I traumatized my children during the purging process.  Apparently they weren’t ready for Christmas to be over.  The kids begged me to put everything back. Tears were involved….  But in doing so I got the house cleaned up and undecorated from Christmas.
ü      I dressed better (and wore make up!) everyday last week.  It helps that I got a fist full of cash for Christmas and with said cash I bought some new clothes.  The new bras are fabo!!!  The “girls” never looked better.
ü       The tabs on the blog are working great.  (So well, that I’m considering adding some new stuff.  We’ll see….*giggle*)
ü      Water. Check!
ü      GNO.  Check, check!
ü      Date with the hubby?  Oh, yeah!!!  Have I mentioned that we are a very boring married couple?  Well we spent Friday evening WAY outside my hubby’s comfort zone.  We had a very avant garde theater experience!  Ok…well, maybe avant garde is going a little far….  We spent a lovely evening sitting on really uncomfortable folding chairs (my ass was not made for folding chairs) in a grubby little black box theater, that I’m relatively certain had no heat.  But can I tell you HOW much fun I had?  I laughed until my face and sides hurt and I saw a man with burgundy hair and beard wearing, what can only be described as, a painted on, low cut, v-neck sweater (sans undershirt and he was quite furry); which would have been fine had he not been 10 months pregnant, wearing women’s leggings and smuggling a squirrel in his pants.  Sorry for the visual.
ü      New recipe of the week was a Spinach Scomboli.  Check out the NEW Recipe section of my blog. (Told you there'd be new stuff!)

Well folks, this was a great start to what will most assuredly be a great year!
